Paula Gant

Dr Paula Gant is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Oil and Natural Gas in the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Fossil Energy.  As Deputy Assistant Secretary, Dr. Gant administers domestic and international oil and gas programs, including policy analysis, and liquefied natural gas (LNG) import and export authorization.  Dr. Gant’s work at DOE is focused on realizing the promise presented by America’s abundant natural gas and oil resources which hinges on prudent production, environmental stewardship and efficient use.  The Department of Energy’s research efforts seek to deploy the best available science, analysis and technologies to ensure a more secure energy future by leveraging our domestic natural gas and oil resources and protecting our air, land, and communities. 

Dr Gant previously worked for the American Gas Association and Duke Energy.  She has also served on the faculties of Louisiana State University and the University of Louisville. Paula is a native of Louisiana.  She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from McNeese State University and a Ph.D. in Economics from Auburn University. 

Chris McGill

Mr. McGill is the Vice President Policy Analysis at the American Gas Association (AGA), headquartered in Washington, D.C., providing services and advocacy for more than 200 local natural gas utility members. His work is in the assessment of future supplies of natural gas, natural gas production, unconventional gas operations and completion technologies, underground storage, key pipeline transportation issues, winter heating season planning, developments in natural gas markets and other related topics in the gas industry. He previously worked as an exploration geologist before joining AGA. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Madison College in Harrisonburg, Virginia (1975) and a M.B.A. from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia (1988). Mr. McGill has been a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists for more than 30 years.

Hiroshi Ohki

Mr. Hiroshi Ohki joined Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. in 1987 and is the General Manager of Fuels Dept. (Head of North American LNG Business. He was the Manager of Power Trading Dept., Corporate Planning & Strategy Division from 2006 until 2009, when he became Manager of the Corporate Planning & Strategy Division. In 2011 Hiroshi became the General Manager & Head of Upstream Equity, Fuels Dept. Hiroshi Graduated from the Faculty of Law, Tokyo University in 1987.
