Vera de Gyarfas

VERA DE GYARFAS is a Partner in the Corporate Finance and Investments Practice Group at King & Spalding.  Ms. De Gyarfas’ practice is focused on international energy projects  with a special focus on Latin America and Africa representing companies in upstream exploration and production projects, LNG and other gas projects, under joint ventures, profit sharing agreements, operating services agreements, EPC contracts, and oilfield service contracts.  Ms. De Gyarfas’ expertise in LNG involves the negotiation and drafting of host government and other investment agreements, analysis of existing regulation and Government negotiations, LNG sales and purchase agreements, gas supply agreements, tolling and terminal usage agreements, among others.

Guillermo Turrent

Guillermo Turrent holds a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Sciences from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de México (UNAM). He began his career in the public sector. First, at PMI Comercio Internacional; he then worked in PEMEX Gas where he was in charge of natural gas derivatives trading.
Nonetheless, Mr. Turrent has spent most of his career in the private sector, as trader of natural gas and power markets. He has been Senior VP and Managing Director in several firms in the United States including Shell, Sempra Energy, Constellation and Electricité de France Trading. His last position was as Director of Modernization at CFE where he oversaw the development of 16 natural gas pipelines, which account for investments of more than 23 billion USD. Currently, Mr. Turrent serves as CEO of the two marketing and trading arms of CFE: CFE International and CFEnergía.

Ye Yishu

Mr. Ye has been with CNOOC for over 15 years and he has been involved, at different stages, along the LNG value chain, including LNG procurement, LNG downstream marketing, LNG spot trading, LNG liquefaction project development, and LNG shipping. Currently, Mr. is the Head of CNOOC Gas & Power Trading and Marketing Ltd in HK.

Juan Oliva Vasquez

Industrial Civil Engineer and Master in Business Administration, both titles from Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. With complementary studies in areas of Applied Economics, Project Evaluation, Energy Power Market and Oil & Gas Industry.

Professional with 20 years of working experience in business areas of power generation, transmission and trading companies, in Chile and Argentina. Wide expertise in the energy and natural gas markets in Latin America.

Since 2009, he has worked as Head of Gas & Fuels Latam of Enel Chile, responsible for the gas operations of the Enel group in Latin America. As a representative of Enel, he has participated in the origination, development and commercial operation of the LNG business in Chile, as manager of the all company´s business related to the Quintero LNG Terminal and also as a member of the board of the companies GNL Chile and GNL Quintero.

Sławomir Sieradzki

Director of Development Division in GAZ-SYSTEM S.A.  Linked professionally with GAZ-SYSTEM group for 7 years while with natural gas sector for more than 12 years. Gain his experience working on construction of LNG Terminal in Swinoujscie, in Polish Ministry of Economy in the Oil and Gas Department as well as in the supervisory boards of various companies of the PGNiG SA Group.

Graduated International Management at Cracow University of Economics and Financial management at Kozminski University.

Alejandro Alle

Alejandro has more than 25 years of experience in the Energy Business in Latin America.

Natural from Argentina, Mechanical Engineer (Mar del Plata, 1987) and Master in Economics (Buenos Aires, 1992), started his career with a scholarship granted by CNEA (Comisión Nacional de Energía Atómica, Argentina) in 1988

At the dawn of the privatizations of public services in Argentina, happened at the early 90´s, Alejandro as well as several other (by the time…) young professionals, entered into the business development activity of natural gas business in Argentina.

During most of the 90´s Alejandro, still based in Buenos Aires, Alejandro worked for Compañía General de Combustibles (CGC, Soldati Group) in the development of natural gas projects in LatAm: GasAndes pipeline (Argentina/Chile), storage in Santa Lucía (Uruguay), Distribution business in Hermosillo (Mexico), etc.

In the year 2000 Alejandro received the proposal to be part of the team that developed from scratch the liquid fuels business in Central America under the brand Puma, at the time controlled by the mentioned Soldati Group. During more than 9 years Alejandro was General Manager of Puma El Salvador.

In 2009, together with Salvadoran partners, Alejandro founded Quantum Energy, a company to develop power businesses in Central American, both renewables and thermal.

After being awarded a renewable 20-year PPA in Guatemala, Quantum decided to participate in the 355 MW, 20-year PPA launched by the government of El Salvador. Once awarded the PPA, Quantum created the SPV company named Energía del Pacífico, where Alejandro is the Executive Director.
