Martin S. Hupka is Assistant General Counsel for Sempra U.S. Gas & Power, LLC, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sempra Energy, a San Diego-based Fortune 500 energy services holding company. In this role, Hupka directs Sempra US Gas & Power’s transactional lawyers that support the LNG, pipeline, midstream, wind and solar projects owned or under development by the company or its affiliates.
Previously, Hupka served as Chief M&A Counsel for Sempra Energy, where he managed the legal work for large transactions undertaken by Sempra or its affiliates, including the $10 billion Cameron LNG export project in Louisiana and Sempra’s exploration of a potential Master Limited Partnership. Prior to that Hupka was a Senior Counsel for Sempra Energy.
Before joining Sempra Energy in 2012, he was an attorney at Clifford Chance LLP specializing in energy and infrastructure project development and finance.
Hupka holds a law degree from Fordham University and a bachelor’s degree in international affairs from The George Washington University.
