Michiko Hirose is a manager of long term LNG Procurement of Tokyo Gas, which imports over 14 million tons of LNG per year. She is widely experienced in the project commercial negotiations, project implementations as well as facilitation of Joint Venture activities for the participation in the LNG projects.
In this capacity, Michiko is currently responsible for executing and maintaining existing contracts and searching for new procurement opportunities in the global LNG market. She is also responsible for optimisation of Tokyo Gas owned fleet of LNG Vessels. Michiko has worked for the company since 1996. Uniquely, she started her carrier as IT engineer designing backbone IT in-house systems; however 10 years ago she shifted her carrier to be involved in the LNG as a commercial manager supporting steady implementation of the upstream development for the LNG Projects in Australia.
She has also worked within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a researcher planning and implementing the foreign policy in relation to energy security of Japan.
